Chislehurst Caves

merlocmod  and I got to visit Chislehurst Caves on a wet day in July but of course underground, it didn't matter. They have tours every hour but it's by lantern light so it made for an interesting journey. Now, I'm not fond of the dark or underground things so it was a bit scary for me but don't let that stop you. It was quite a bit of fun, too.

Wow you have certainly had a trip round.
Thank you for the info re the caves it looks an interesting place and thanks for the tip re the lanterns, I am not keen on the dark either so I will be prepared.
This is still on my 'to visit' list.

I probably wouldn't have gone to the caves, Ivinghoe or Penshurst place if my kid hadn't had to go home early. I didn't want to drive back to Wales for a day or so - so I figured why not see southern England.

I wasn't happy about the lanterns.

I really enjoyed that day we spent together! I'm so glad we made it work. I found the caves much more interesting than I'd anticipated. It's a pity we probably won't ever be able to pin down an exact location, but sometimes close enough just has to be good enough! :-)

We'll have to do it again. I really enjoyed the caves and the gardens at Penshurst Place. I'm kicking myself though that we didn't go to Hever Castle together since we both like gardens! Next time!
