I thought it worth doing another, fuller post about the locations we don't yet know the location of... I'm sure there's more than this, but these are the things that have particularly snagged my curiosity. All ideas will be welcome!

I don't actually think this is Odin's palace but it reminded me of the undercroft of Lacock Abbey (used in Harry Potter films)

The Battle abbey undercroft looks more like Odin's place. It's higher and has more pillars. I'd be surprised though that they'd go that far afield. I would have thought they'd pick someplace close to Cardiff.

Thank you for your input, hon! It's interesting to see Lacock Abbey, though as you say it's not quite high enough. Whatever location they used, it's really rather incredible, isn't it? Astonishingly high, for this kind of thing.

I agree that Battle Abbey seems rather too far from Cardiff, but they did film the first two blocks of the first season in Surrey, and this scene was very much a one-off, without any of the regular characters. So I think it's a possibility, even though not a probability.

Perhaps the only thing that's definite is that this location is still on the Unknown list! :-D

Well, one of my online friends is going to Battle Abbey in a month or so - so I asked her to ask them if they did filming there for Merlin.

Yes, I've been to the place but many, many years ago. It's pretty far south of London so it is possible.
