I have finally done another rewatch! This time it's episode 104 The Poisoned Chalice, with our first look at the beautiful Burnham Beeches, and the first cinematography by Dale McCready. I hope you'll come have a look at the (image-intense) post over on the website!

First thing, I hear they've been reusing Welsh locations for Atlantis. Have you spotted any?

I thought the place where Arthur was scrambling out of the cave was at 3 Bears but on further viewing, it wasn't. Same with the cave entrance. I thought it might be one of the caves near King Arthur's cave but again, couldn't find anything like it.

It may remain a mystery.

Yikes, I just realised you commented two months ago!!! So sorry for the delay in replying.

Thank you for putting your Locations Geekery to work on solving these puzzles, but I agree with your conclusion that we haven't pinned these ones down yet. The cave mouth is certainly very like King Arthur's, so like you I was looking at those cave mouths from every angle, trying to make it fit - but it just wouldn't. I bet it's in the area, though, as it's the same chalky stone.

Heaven knows, it won't be possible to solve ALL the puzzles, but I shall be quite disappointed when we finally get down to the last unsolvable ones and have to give up! :-)

Oh, sorry, and you asked about Atlantis... I've only watched five episodes, but yes they made great use of Puzzlewood (which I have to admit I resented a little) and also plenty of generic pine forest which made me think of Clements End.

I'm sure you've seen some Dr Who at Chepstow Castle as well by now...? :-)

EEEEEE! Leaving this here so you know that this is on THE LIST of things to do as soon as I can, but sadly that time is not right now. But! That means I have something to look forward to, so, yay! :D

LOL! And here I am two months later... finally following up. My bad! Life has just been. Well, you know. :-)

I hope you've had a chance to look at the post by now. I don't know whether you'll find it reassuring or not that I haven't managed to do episode 105 yet! :-D

I'm going to be old and grey by the time this is finished... Oh wait. I'm already grey, anyway!

I absolutely love the visuals on this episode but didn't realise it was Dale McCready's first episode, though I should have done. Thanks for a terrific analysis of the locations and the episode.

Thank you, hon! I'm glad you enjoyed the post, and indeed the look at Dale's first work. Some of it, as I'm sure you'd agree, already seems to bear his distinctive mark. Also, some of it - probably more than I've mentioned in the post - I think was done by the previous guys while filming ep 103... I know they all pitched in and helped each other out when needed, but I suspect things were slightly less clear-cut even than usual for this little run of episodes.

Sorry, rabbiting on again! I shall look forward to exploring more of Dale's work with you! :-)
