This episode. Too epic. I cried, I laughed thrice, I loved, I cried some more. I loved it all so much. And I just couldn't even cope with doing a locations post before now. Sorry!
'Also, the island and even the mountains behind it are more worn, indicating how very long Merlin has been waiting for Arthur to rise again' - OMG I didn't notice this until you pointed it out...That is just amazing and so beautiful <3 Like their love for each other which will endure beyond the end of time and throughout the very worst possible hardship <333
'My Bruce just said he'll take me back there. He's my hero.' So much love OMG <3<3<3
It's such an amazing detail, isn't it? Kudos to the art department! And I didn't notice myself until I was actually doing the screen captures while rewatching it. :-) Yes, I am absolutely sure their love and friendship and partnership will endure.
Dear Bruce, yes. I am just yearning to get out there again, and follow in Merlin's footsteps. ♥
I drove right past that. We stayed at the Royal Lodge near the Saracen Inn so we used that road a couple of times. Sigh, had I known.
I didn't notice how worn the hill was until you said something but it looked very CGId so I figured they just used Glastonbury Tor and CGId it.
I figured the lake was at Speech House lake but the wider shot of a large lake in front of the Tor doesn't look like Speech House but some wider lake. Would they have used the reservoir up north and then CGId it?
Ah! Luckily for us, it's a place that sticks in the mind! Thank heavens for their rather awesome stag statue. :-)
Given the wider shots of the large lake with the Isle of Avalon are all CGI, then I guess the image of the water could have come from anywhere. But it's nice to think it might have been Pontsticill Reservoir... It would be fitting to use something that has meaning for us all, rather than something random. But again, I suppose it's one of those questions we can note, but never know!
LOL, yes, I know what you mean! My stocks of tissues are running low. :-)
It is a fantastic tree, isn't it? I'm glad they found or saved something wonderful for him. I am pretty sure it's a real location, as it's not (yet!) giving me any hints of being CGI'd. Certainly something I'll be keeping an eye out for.
Btw i had to give the mainpage (not LJ) to Stumpy on Twitter, who wanted to lay a game called "Where is this location" for the last episode^^ Don't know if he checked it out, he never answered.
Very belated thanks, hon, for your kind thoughts and for the tissues! They were in much use around here, right throughout Christmas!
I don't mind at all that you have given the website address to Stumpy. I think he and Alexandra visited when I posted a link to the article about being a runner. :-)

Oh, I hadn't noticed that. What a fascinating and heartbreaking detail.
I love Mordred's tree. I do hope you can find it.

I'm loving that tree, too, and already have a working theory. :-) Hopefully we'll get out there in the next couple of days, and explore. ♥
P.S. Your choice of icon is so very perfect.
