I really can't picture them both are Merlin and Gwen. I don't think the show would have, have the same appeal at all.

No, I don't think so either. Can you imagine Bradley playing with Matt Smith in the same way? I mean Bradley was besotted with Colin, at least the first year.

They certainly wouldn't have clicked in the same way.
Also with Matt being that bit older then Colin, I don't think we would have seen the same naivety and vulnerability in Merlin.

absolutely. I think it would have been very different and I'm not sure I'd be writing Merlin fanfic if Matt had done it.

Wow. Colin was a perfect Merlin. I can't imagine Matt and Bradley having any of the same chemistry or energy.

There would have been no magnificent, perfect OTP... I shudder when contemplating that prospect.

I think the show would have been much less popular with some of the fans. I know I've never wanted to write fanfic with shows with Matt in it. He's wonderful as Doctor Who but he's no Merlin!

I'm having a hard time picturing Matt as Merlin. He would have been brilliant in knocking over things, though. :)

Nope, it's better that was. Colin as Merlin and Matt as The Doctor. Fits.

Oh man, I'm so glad they cast Colin! I mean, I love Matt, I really do, but Bradley and Colin had something special.

I love Matt, too, but not as Merlin. Bradley and Colin were just wonderful together.
