Oh, that was really gorgeous! So very much in character for Uther. whilst he had always taught Arthur about his duty, he had missed and needed Ygraine to teach him the lighter-hearted things. I love that Uther can appreciate and approve of Merlin. That he is willing to allow that someone is needed to teach Arthur about the simple joys. Lovely!

That put a big smile on my face--Merlin being the one who can make Arthur happy, and Uther recognizing it. Uther is one of my favorite characters, too, so it was great to see a fic from his pov.

I think Uther is a fascinating character - there's so much unexplored about him in the show I decided I was just going to have to do a bit of it myself!
