'His Father's Son' scored the highest overnight rating of any Merlin episode in this series so far, with 5.9 million viewers, up 400k from last week. It's a shame it will probably dip again next week because it's Bonfire Night. I wonder if they're gaining X Factor viewers? It seems pointed that Merlin ratings improve as X Factor seems to decline and has come under a lot of attack in the press.
