This is wonderful. The changes in canon have built a totally different, fascinating Camelot. The kingdom embracing magic is wonderful and I love that Arthur and Merlin have had one another's friendship for so many years. Merlin's goodbye and Arthur's reaction to his absence highlighted the love they have for one another.

The boys have had one another's backs most of their lives, but now that Merlin is off with the Druids Arthur has had to weather Tristan's boorish behavior and overstepping of rank on his own. Arthur finally challenging Tristan has been a long time coming and I hope the Prince is able to take his uncle down a notch or ten.

I think I always wanted to explore a canon AU where Merlin would be in a position to be not only an influence on Arthur, but an early influence. So much fun to watch them grow together. :)

I, too, rather like this Camelot. I wish it could be like this, at least in some ways, in canon. ;)
