Return to You, Gwen/Morgana [+A/G] , Gfelix_aeternusOctober 10 2010, 03:23:55 UTC
She can hear Gwen’s strained voice before she spots her at the bottom of the stairs.
“I asked you to come call if -”
“But she awoke in the early hours, Gwen, and you’ve been with her since she suffered the fall. You’re still exhausted. You needed the rest!”
“That’s not the point, Merlin! I can’t believe you let me wait until morning!”
“But she’s fine now, so what’s the big deal- ?”
smack!
Morgana is as unbelieving and wide-eyed as Merlin, but Gwen’s already turned away and is heading towards Gaius’ chambers - towards her. And as she catches a blaze in her maid’s eyes, Morgana can neither predict nor control the sudden fluttering in her heart.

Her breath leaves her as she sees them.
Arthur and Gwen are in a close embrace: her head buried in his chest; his strong arms around her, pulling her impossibly close. They are whispering, and Morgana strains to catch what they are saying, but they are too far down the corridor. And they are oblivious to their surrounding, she thinks, only in a way two lovers would be

oh my goooood. you wroooooooooooote. and i diiiiiiiiiiiied. ♥______♥
I really love the tone of this: Morgana's kind of shock at Gwen's (and Arthur, in the middle piece) care, and that it's slowly getting through to her (THAT'S RIGHT, MORGANA. YOU REMEMBER YOUR GIRL, GWEN.) and it's so aching and ... desolate. Which is perfectly in keeping to this kind of slow and sad revelation. Ngh.
Morgana's mind works slowly, but remembers that she’d almost died.
I love this line. It's the perfect observation; of course, in light of the news about Uther, she'd forget about the near death. ;__;
And they are the one’s embracing now, desperately tight, and clinging to each other. Morgana buries herself in Gwen's curls, her cheeks burn in shame for what she had witnessed, the conclusions she had jumped to. Of course, Arthur acted nobly, offering his comfort to a mutual, distressed friend. Of course Gwen was upset, and crying. And of course it was for her...of course it was for her.:(((( MY HEART IS LIKE ACTUALLY BROKEN. So beautiful, N. So, so

The moment Morgana realises that, aside from a new father, she also now has a little brother. (Who she may or may not have attempted to get off with at some point during their teenage years. :PPP)

I guess while Uther was searching for Morgana, Morgana was learning to be TEH EBIL, and Merlin was dying in the guilt of "killing" Morgana, Arthur was busy taking lessons on how to properly interact with women?

I like where you're going with that ;)
Although I'm firstly thinking that clearly Morgause wanted to meet Morgana to give her her birthday present and I want to know what it was!

Your birthday present thing is an excellent idea, omg, I forgot. Everyone's presents need to be explored.

It only struck me at the end that that was probably why Morgause wanted to meet her the first time.
