Oh, this was so lovely. Incredibly sexy, and romantic and wonderful. *happy sigh*

Merlin's obliviousness is always so great- gee, what possible reason could Arthur have for not allowing Merlin to attend him at night anymore, or when he's bathing? Not to mention that he's totally oblivious to his own feelings, even despite his growing need to protect Arthur, even from disparaging comments. He's so adorably clueless, and it's perfectly in character.
