In quite a few stories I've read, esp. where Will is a character, he usually sees Arthur being a jackass to Merlin, but in the end Merlin dumps Will to be with his one true love, Arthur, who always treats him like his personal manservant with benefits. I read it, but it's really not what I'm looking for. Here, too, Merlin, is ready to betray his friends for his crush, Arthur. He is basically being a modern street artist version of his canon self.

There is one I just finished it's a series http://archiveofourown.org/series/9979 very long, very good, kind of violent but it is a modern war fic. Will is in parts of it and he helps win the war.

I did... which is why I asked for more of the same.

I really loved Merlin and Will in Canon and HATE that when he got killed protecting Arthur, Merlin didn't even get to mourn, on top of Arthur telling him "he was a sorcerer, they're only good dead"... I wanted to jump into the TV and slap the shit out of him for that.
