Your poem stirs fond memories for me. Two summers ago, during the last two weeks of August, my family drove from Wisconsin to Yellowstone and the Grand Titons. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of our country, places I'd never been. I wept at the top of Summit Mountain. I meditated at the overlook at Jenny Lake, at the foot of a mountain in the Grand Titons. I wanted every sight, every sound, every sensation to burn into my memory, so I could return to those places any time I wanted.
