rediscovering MST3000...

Ever since we got Netflix online video streaming service, I've been rediscovering how much I love and miss Mystery Science Theater 3000. I've got about 100 episodes on VHS tape (most of them are older than Charlotte!), but the VHS player has been broken for years and yeah, I've been pining for my MST3K. Not an issue anymore! Last night it was " ( Read more... )

I love that show so much. I was SO happy to see so many episodes available on Netflix! Finally, I can watch Robot Vs. The Aztec Mummy again! ^_^

If you haven't heard (you probably already know) Joel has reassembled most of the original cast & writers for his "Cinematic Titanic" project. http://www.cinematictitanic.com/
They're doing a live tour and I just bought tickets to the show in Schenectady in February. *geeking out*

I know! I would LOVE to go see that!

I'm kind of internet acquaintances with Mike Nelson, who's doing the RiffTrax thing now, which is the same thing only different. And it's really funny, but man, I'm such a sucker for Joel and Trace and Mary Jo. And TV's Frank!

I've gone through two copies of the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide. ^_^

Joel was just so darn cute. And the whole "invention exchange" thing...priceless.

Mike is really very funny, and I know he was the head writer and stuff, but after Joel and Trace and Frank left the show it really lost something. IMO. *unrepentant Joel-Girl*

In '96 I was at the second Conventio-Con Expo Fest-A-Rama 2 in Minneapolis. I gave Trace a dragon head keychain...I hear he still has it. :-)

If you point me to an image of Joel (dunno who he is so don't know who to look for) I can always make you such an icon. Easy. :)

Too bad I didn't know about your VHS. My DVD player has VHS in it...you could have recorded over to DVD. Well, no need now, I guess. :)

E: Nevermind! I found a round-about way to do it, will make an icon lickety-split, fifteen minutes.

E2: I got an image that makes 'ooh, waffles' look believable, but he looks kind of flat in every image I've found, not the LEAST bit like anything with an ! would look natural. I dunno if ooh waffles is applicable, though. I have NO idea what this is about. Maybe it's more of an 'eeeeek, waffles, run for your liiiiife!' situation...

It's more like "Wow!! Waffles!!"...which might be hard to do with a Joel picture 'cause he always looks half asleep. :)

Here...actually upon reflection, this site has the perfect Joel pic:

At the top right of the page. That pic with a simple "waffles!" would be terribly cute and could serve SO many purposes.

Okay, it'll just take a sec. :) (Well...five minutes, I guess.) Be back soon!

Funnily, that image was my first choice, but he looked bemused rather than enthusiastic so I opted for the other one. Well, here it is, that image with just 'waffles!' on it. The second image had a better quality photo to work with and I was able to sharpen and alter the colour to something better much more easily, though I have no idea if the icon as a whole is better or not.

Well, this is what you get, though it may not at all be in keeping with the intended meaning...

Unless you know of a more appropriate image.

That's a really cute fan story! I met the female voice actress from one of my favorite animes (Utena) at a convention once and I was also totally inane, I think I was talking about the superiority of Japanese packaging over American or something... >_< But I got a picture with her! Haha.

Sometimes you just gotta let your freak flag fly. :) You usually just get one shot at telling someone famous that you admire them, so my theory is just go for it.

And the Lord said, "Die children die!"

Still my favorite show of all time. :)
