[He smiles at her, and makes like to say something else, but he's interrupted by the noise of a sizable groundstrike just outside the shop's window. He sees the ghosts, and his jaw drops.]

[She falls silent, whirling around to face the direction he's looking in.]

Yes... [A shake of her head.] What... what is that?!

[She's silent for a moment, hesitating, before she steels herself and takes a couple steps forward.]

I don't know. But we should be ready in case they do.

[Souji glances around for anything he can make out in the dim light that halfway resembles a weapon. All he finds is a fire extinguisher. It's not idea, but he supposes it will do in a pinch.

The lightning flashes again, and it's now apparent the headless figures are armed.]

Did you see that?

[She glances at the fire extinguisher without comment and pulls out her bow, though she keeps it lowered.

She jumps slightly when the lightning flashes again, but takes a careful step forward.]

Weapons... Scythes? [Okay, that's new. A deep breath.] Are... Are you ready?

[He nods, catching a glimpse of her own weapon out of the corner of his eye. Somehow, he thinks his fire extinguisher won't be much help. Tam Lin steps to the front of his consciousness with a silent reminder: You have other weapons at your disposal. You need only call on us.

Souji rolls his shoulders back, gaze trained at the front of the shop.]

Ready as I'll ever be.

[She nods back and moves to stand next to him.

All right, here goes. She doesn't say a word for several moments, watching as the ghosts get closer and closer to the entrance.]

...I think they are coming this way.

[Sure enough, the first of the ghosts steps in through doorway. Souji's breath catches in his throat - for some reason, he really thought, he hoped he'd be done with all of this nonsense once he left Inaba. So much for going back to a normal life.

He tosses the fire extinguisher at the headless figure, and it clatters to the ground, taking the ghost's attention. Souji uses the distraction as an opportunity to call up Tam Lin in a burst of blue flame and launch his own electrical attack at the spectral form.]

Persona!

[Ziodyne's a heavy spell, but it seems to have no effect on the ghost. Well, nothing except calling its attention to Souji and MOMO.]

[She gasps. They went right through the door, almost like... like the Gnosis. But that can't be right. The readings she's getting from them are nothing like what she gets from the Gnosis.

She raises her bow, but is distracted herself when Souji makes his move, staring up with wide eyes at the spell her calls up.

MOMO shakes herself out of it when it has no effect though, and fires her own shot from her bow.

...Which only seems to really make the ghosts notice them.]
