Writing Update and Dumbledore

Oct 20, 2007 08:49

Wow. So, Dumbledore is gay . I mean, we didn't know this by book 7, did we? It wasn't obvious? I think it's pretty cool that JKR confirmed it for us. Who is she going to confirm next?

In other news, I haven't done a writing update in a while. I'm not doing yuletide this year. I found 18 fandoms I could offer, but really, only 2 I wanted a story ( Read more... )

Snape is alive and living in New York as a Muggle computer programmer.

OK, that I want to read.

I want to finish it. It's kind of stalled.

Sounds like we have a lot of interesting reading to come! Wish I could put up such a positive list of work in progress.

I'm not even sure where all of this came from. *g* The trick will be finishing it and getting it posted.

Hey, thanks for the "Dumbledore is gay" link. That was interesting. I admit I did have a sneaking suspicion. Would explain it, too, why he hesitated so long to do stop Grindlewald if he once had been (perhaps still was?) in love with him.

Wow, your writing plans sound interesting. I'm very much looking forward to read the end results. ^-^ Especially the Harry/Draco and the Snarry.

My writings? Well. I was afraid DH would kill my Harry Potter bunnies once and for all. It didn't. It's spawned them. I'm working on a Snarry that's almost completely DH compliant. Oh, and there are a three more bunnies hopping around, waiting to be written (one Snarry, two Severitus). Unfortunately, I'm a rather slow writer. And the bunnies are so d*** fast.

The whole Dumbledore is gay amuses me no end. I mean, after book 7, it was pretty obvious. But I never expected JKR to admit it. I'm glad she did. And I'm not harshing the squee because she didn't have Harry figure it out in the book. Harry is just too clueless to think about it.

And yay for more writing. I was glad canon was closed. And that always helps me think of new ideas. *g*

Yay, you're writing! I really need your stories to cleanse my palate.

I haven't had any itch to write anything. I thought I wouldn't be writing because Snape is dead, but it's more that I don't like those people any more, if I even liked them to begin with (i.e. Dumbledore). I thought Harry would grow up and get *some* brains by the end of the series -- even a little smarts or discernment or awareness would have done it, given how brainless he's always been, but no. And a Snape who survives the war deserves better than JKR's Harry.

Like your Harry. :)

I'm sorry you don't like them anymore. I see potential in all of them now, especially Draco. Which is a place I don't think I ever would have gone when I was first reading the books.

I don't have a problem with Harry. He's very young, yes, and innocent -- which he retains through the whole series. He hasn't had a chance to grow up yet. Give him a few years, he'll be fine. *g*
