I admit I am somewhat hopped up on cold meds right now, so if this doesn't make sense, ask me again in a couple of days... ;-P
The anonymity of the characters (at least from the perspective of the story) really added a desperate aspect to it for me, perhaps even inevitability on certain levels - just two people reaching out to strangers for comfort because they've got nowhere left to turn.
I confess, I loved the tenderness you imbue Dean with in the story. We know he can be hard but he does have softer bits under the surface. (And we've discussed this in detail in our personal journals, so I won't belabor the point here.) The small things, though, seemed important to him within the context of the story; a part of the comfort. I was glad to see it.
Very nicely done! I am looking forward to the sequels. ;-P
Thanks. *g* My biggest fear was that I didn't make Dean recognizable enough without identification. First stories in any new fandom are always hard that way.
Anyway, glad you liked it. The next one is almost done. I've only got one more after that planned, but as I mentioned, I want to give Dean a happy ending, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. He's a hard one to pin down and getting him to do what you want, even for his own good, is rather difficult.
BTW, this is my personal journal. I don't have separate one for stories. I do have a website, but I just post here with everything else.

I recognized him. I think we all bring different interpretations to Dean specifically because of the masks he's wearing, you know? None of those interpretations are right or wrong, they just are. IMHO.

Trust me. He's making it difficult in everything I write...even the one story where I was like, "Damn it, he's getting a happy ending." It's that heroic bent of his, you know. And his self-sacrifice. ;-P

See, I knew that in the back of my mind but, um, yeah. Cold medication. ;-P

I agree with that. Well, in theory. You can make him out of character. There are things he won't do. Things he won't say, and if you make him do or say them, then you need to make a case for it. If you're a good enough writer, you can convince me of anything.

Is that what it is? I thought it was that damned stubbornness and the sure and certain knowledge that he is right and you are wrong. *g*
I really enjoyed this...the OFC was cool, and I love Dean in this. Not really schmoopy, but not a selfish lover, either. Like, you'd really WANT to go to bed with Dean, and not just because he's hot.
Great job...I love het in this fandom, so I can't wait to read more of this!

I'm not so sure where this came from, but I couldn't help myself. I suspect Supernatural fandom is going to be that way for me.
I know exactly what you mean! I just wrote my fist piece of SPN fic, and it was gen.
I look forward to more of the series!
