Crap.Flashpoint was #1 in its slot again by numbers, but it lost a million viewers in the US from last week. If it keeps hemorrhaging like that I don't predict a happy ending. This week's ep was good, so maybe it picks up again next week. If it does, I hope they move it. Maybe CBS will keep it just for content balance, though. CTV should keep it ( Read more... )

I missed it last night b/c the CBS website said 10pm, but it wasn't on... just the news. :-p So I dunno whether I'll watch the repeat tomorrow or see if it's online.

Friday night timeslots are like the kiss of death, though, for mainstream audiences.

I don't know how they shuffle it around out West. Eastern and Central simulcast -- maybe you get it at 9pm with Mountain? I dunno.

I have no idea why they put it on Friday. Do they want to kill it?

I haven't seen Flashpoint yet (I will, I will! I'm slow on everything and get all my TV from Other Sources Than Broadcast), but I'd bet it's at least as good if not better than most summer shows, because a. the Hugh Factor ups a show's Goodness Factor exponentially and b. An average example of a summer show these days is Hurl.

I'm still waiting to see if the second season of Durham County will be picked up. There's a script and everything, so *crosses
fingers*.

It really is quite good, but given the success of most of the shit that does get picked up I have doubts about a) the good taste of the masses and b) any network's williness to keep cult shows.

I hate reality and competition television, unless it's on Food Network. Can we cancel it all and have more Hugh?

The Hugh Channel! It could work, because he's been in a bajillion shows, right? I heard an interview about Durham County where he's referred to as "the ubiquitous Hugh Dillon". :D

No one in the US watches CBS lmao. They can't even afford good broadcast video quality.
Ahem sorry.
Uh I saw it advertised, but I don't think it got enough and it's not on a big enough network, but I guess partial good news is that because CBS isn't a big network and doesn't get very awesome ratings on shows anyways, they may keep it.

Nobody watches much of anything on a Friday night. I'm not quite sure what they expect from that. CTV too -- it's their series, the most expensive one, and yet they run it in a death slot.

I don't understand TV networks, truly.

Wellllll Stargate Atlantis is on Friday, but then again they probably assume geeks don't go out. LMAO.
Silly Skiffy is silly.

Cult sci-fi shows on cable and network cop shows purporting to be targeted at a mainstream audience take different sorts of planning. SGA was never a contender for July sweeps, you know? *g*

They changed the airing time here this week... 10pm is pretty late for a lot of viewers. The ones who work won't stay up... and everyone else leaves the house by 10pm for other friday night activities. If I were currently working, I don't know that I would be staying up that late to watch it.

I'm not worried yet though. It's a good show... just need to wait for those few ppl who have seen it to start yapping at the water cooler and we'll be set!

10pm Friday in the summer is pretty much balls, yeah.

Hopefully it swings up a bit and attracts a regular viewership. :)
