I just. Functionality issues! Everywhere. I'm going to write an angry email about: fix my tags with slashes, fix tag list view, let me view 100 per page again, where the fuck is my network feed and finally I NEED TO ORGANIZE AUTOMATICALLY BY TAG DO YOU REALLY THINK I'M GOING TO CLICK MY 2221 BOOKMARKS PERSONALLY TO ADD THEM TO THIS ASININE STACK THING?!?!
Yeah, I discovered it last night when I was just trying to find ONE FIC to read before going to sleep. My wrath was great and somewhat plaintive.
Looks to me like a case of trying to attract new users while not understanding Thing One about how actual committed superusers actually operate the site.
Oooh, did you agree to the data movement thing before the site officially changed hands? They weren't keeping inactive users or people who didn't like the new TOS. (can you get to your list WITHOUT logging in?)
I suspect they are going to get a loooooot of emails this week. I hope their dev team is ready for the Rage(tm).
i'm not sure if i did ir didn't - do you know when that was, that they asked for that agreement? it sounds familiar but it sounds like something i did months ago? i can view my list w/o logging in so if worse comes to worst i can re-save all the links if i have to. i "only" have 670 links, so it's not as daunting a task as it could be.
They did it once when they first announced the site was changing hands way back, and then again this summer so everyone who wanted could opt-in by this month. It was in a pop-up at the top of the site for a while.
Sounds like they kept the data, so you're probably cool. You'll have to email about account access, I guess.
I do not use my own delicious account much, but I do go there to navigate (semi)anonymous memes and WHAT THE HELL? Am I reading it right that any bundled tags are currently showing up as has:[top level of bundle], rather than the individual tags? It is technically correct to say that the fic I read has:fandom and has:author, but unless there's a way to get at the specific fandom or author tags, that's not useful. ... I can't imagine a tagging system in which it IS useful.
You may be right about the has: tags thing, but that sounds pretty damn useless for my purposes. Also I can't even SEE all my tags, WTAF.
I only really go a look at it briefly this morning... long enough to make an D: face and start complaining. I'll noodle around tonight and see what I can do with the bloody thing.
But it's a festival of bad implementation. Haven't these AVOS yahoos ever heard of a site beta? =/ =/
