A-HA! Now I understand why I must wear a winter coat when I walk to work, and then shed EVERY LAYER OF EVERYTHING EVER when I walk home. *shakes tiny fist of rage at the sun*

The WTF-ness of the Arcade Fire's Grammy win has been very amusing indeed. Oh, Canadian indie rock, you are the stealth bomber of hipster music!

HI NOS.

I know, right? Yesterday it was like 3 degrees, then freezing, then cold today, and now it's going to creep up to 10C on Friday? It's all weird! It's only February, not yet time for Ontario weather to start that crazy lurch into Mud season.

I am always amused at people being SO OFFENDED OMG CONSPIRACY all over the internet. I mean, I'm actually chuffed that the Grammy committee made a non-multi-platinum choice. Shows it's actually about considering the album and not whose giant corporate rep team got them the most plays on American radio.

Of course, then I read the most cringe-inducing SPN wank just posted over on FW and now Twitter crazies have less of my goodwill. O_o

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED! I just witnessed that whole thing unfold on Twitter at 4am this morning. Ugh. PEOPLE. Just...can we build a giant wall between fans and the objects of our fannish obsession? Jesus.

SERIOUSLY OH MY GOD. Epic trainwreck. I almost didn't read past the first exchange as post on FW because I was like "ohhhhhh no...". I think I actually said it out loud.

ACTORPEOPLE. DO NOT RESPOND TO THE TINHATS.

I am waiting for Misha to get up in there and stir the pot, though. He's got a fine enough sense of the fucking ridiculous to dish it back out.

There's a lot more where that came from, I'm sure. Anger! But it's cool, because Kanye was happy with it.

...Who the hell hasn't heard of Arcade Fire? I mean really.

My favorite comment is from the person who thinks they must be a metal band. XD

Yeah, idk, I thought they are pretty well-known. I mean, I still think that they are, just maybe not with people who choose their radio stations based entirely on which one plays the most Rhianna. But still, you never heard mention...?

LOL, metal.

But....Arcade Fire was on Saturday Night Live? I thought that was the tool by which we measured MAINSTREAM BAND? How did they sneak up on people?

IDK - I have this odd dislike for them that seems to stem from TOO MANY PEOPLE in that band? There's like 8 of them or something? My brain says 8 people need to produce at least 100% more music than a band with 4 people, and they seem to be falling a bit short?

(ALSO, tastes of Springsteen. My hatred of Springsteen is totally rational, or something?)

I... guess? IDK. People are just really pissed Eminem didn't win, like that guy needs more encouragement.

You think AF has too many people, you should see the crowd Broken Social Scene can pull. They DO produce 100% more music, though. Comes from having a horn section, I think.

(And, hmm, Springsteen? IDK, I never listened to enough of him to have the point of comparison.)

Best solar flare EVER. This time last week I was canceling plans in order to stay inside and hide from the horrible, frigid cold, and today I was jacket-less and stomping in puddles. If that's being helped by solar storms, it's totally worth radio blackouts! Says me. Space is awesome.

Also, MISHA. I can't wait to see how the scavenger hunt business turns out. Social experiment of HILARITY.

Yeah, I can't say I REALLY mind the lack of deep freeze, but then again all this snowmelt makes a mess.

Misha is something else. I don't get how people don't understand he's trolling. "I don't know, man, this contest seems legit!"

Someone on FW said it right: Misha is so much cooler than his fans.

Hee.
