So, hi. I was gone for a day or so! Hadda do the Easter Dinner thing down at the grandma's, but now I am back in the land of wifi!
Aaaaand... a lot of my flisties seem to be Dreamwidth-having today! So I finally hoisted myself over and at least got the

\o/ I cannot WAIT!
And yeah, I think DW will take a while to get moving. The community import thing is tough to figure out; I suspect they'll get the problem sorted soon, but for now, I think everyone will stick around LJ for a few more years. It'll be a sloooooow transition.
Say hi to your mom! And give her a hug from your mysterious Toronto-going pal!

The comm thing IS rough.... but it'll inspire me to go back and save more of my bookmarks for my own having. And, hey, maybe we can have, like, a repost comm? Where people can can post a note if they've reposted old fic offerings on their DW, y/y? Because you know, more copies of fics available = yay.
I will hug my mom. That's, like, most of what I do when I go home. :D

So, yeah. Cool people being over there, I'll have a poke at it. I'm not sure it'll take off that fast, free accounts being invite-only. I mean, if most of the action is still on LJ well... most of it with be here. Fandom votes with its feet, but slooooooowly, and only when there's a clear advantage. I'm not convinced yet that DW is improvement enough, really. Business model is all well-and-good but if the interface isn't a leap? People moved to LJ from lists because the functionality was so conducive to community. Going to have to see if DW can stand out similarly. If LJers are feeling like they're LOSING features in the switch, even for shinier admin, well...
