TIFF Reporting, part the second.

Yesterday's screening for Silk was at 9am, which meant another early morning so I could wake up in time to take the subway down from my cousin's place to Ryerson Theatre. nos4a2no9 and I were both slightly late, but scriggle and primroseburrows were already there nearly at the head of the line. The house wasn't nearly packed (the school has a large theatre), but it was still a ( Read more... )

Extremely WTF. I hate a lot of modern architecture, but this is above and beyond. *grumble*

I suppose it is. Most places haven't gotten the memo about the strong dollar. I think, though, that grocery and wholesale-wise Canada probably has the cheapest food in the world.

Toronto is rather pretty, for all it's not known for it. Lots of nice buildings and old churches and parks and stuff. The King and Jarvis area is very nice, in particular, if not terribly exciting. Tons of construction all the time though.

That's about what I expected from the trailer for Silk. I'll probably wait and see that one when I can just skip to Callum's scenes.

Toronto is so pretty! Fantastic parks, for sure; nothing quite like NYC's parks, but then maybe I'm biased. When I think of where I want to move after I graduate, 8 out of 10 times it's Chicago, but about 1 out of 10 it's Toronto. If it weren't for the immigration issues it'd be way higher on the list. Plus Hockey Hall of Fame! My family totally sent out a Stanley Cup Christmas photo the year we visited. So much love.

That really looks like the Twitch City building. Awesome!

Considering how small his part was (three or four scenes tops) I'm surprised Callum was in the trailer at all! Kind of odd, though I suppose since he was only one of two English-speaking characters in that part of the film it makes some sense. Now that I think of it, I wish they'd translated some of the Japanese. Knowni WTF was going on might have helped the boredom.

Toronto is nice! I've been there a lot, so I maybe don't appreciate it as I should. The Hall of Fame is pretty sweet. In French, it's called the Temple, which I love. *g*

Finding dS6D locations is FTW! We got three on this trip. \o/

The criminal underuse of Callum comes into effect once again. *sigh*

Lovely photographs! Definitely looks like the Twitch City building to me.. also that thing sticking out the museum is hideous. I don't know why people insist on doing these things to old buildings. :\

He's always underused. Normal could have been wall-to-wall Callum and I'd still say they should use him more. Because they should.

The ROM makes me sad. :( They're committing assault on the AGO building too. /o\

Thanks for the report! Silk sounds missable, except for his scenes, and, yeah I saw the still pix with the muttonchops. Ouch. I hope they paid him extra to appear in those. :)

Also, great photos! Thank you for sharing them! The first thing I thought when I saw the first few pictures? Amazing how much it looks like Chicago. :)

And yes, Happy Birthday to Callum. He's older than me again for the next six days and I intend to enjoy that!

Entirely missable, though he is cute in it. The kimono hides all the good stuff though, except when we see his bare leg. ;-)

I guess maybe a city on a Great Lake == a city on a Great Lake? *g*

(He's 25 years older than me /o\ )
