It's a fool's game - in my belief the most dangerous kind. I doubt anyone knows why he began it in the first place. And in the end, as long as the Devil passes over their door, nobody cares.
Even death does not last within this stage, making the whole incident even more meaningless. But it is human nature not to meddle in affairs that do not concern them. And sometimes, it is for the best.
