Why the rush?

I'd spent the day cleaning and while doing so enjoying my characters in my head.  I went to bed wanting to clean some more today and wanting to write.  And yeah, with the internal battle going on the guilt and stress started up.  I wanted to do it all.  The thing is I can't write a few words and walk away.  It takes a lot of concentration from me ( Read more... )

LOL -- no deadlines here, either ;) I also like to create stories in my mind -- and yeah, writing them down is Work. Sometimes I really enjoy the Work. Other times, not so much.

I think it's mostly the getting started that I don't like. Once I'm well into the writing, I'm fine and happy--unless interrupted. lol. It just takes so much to get the paragraphs flowing at first, though. :-(

Well said! Writer's Block is my enemy and best friend. While I'm not able to write, I have the mental time to come up with a zillion new ideas that end up making the story much better! And I really do love my characters.

I feel the same way. Writing as a process is not the most pleasurable thing in the world, for my fingers or for my mind, wracking it for the right words, but as a creating process I love it. I don't have a deadline either, but I like to finish as much as possible, because you never know what might happen, good or bad, and because I think I am a careerist. Anyways I have so many fanfic stories I enjoy!! Insane really and I don't write them for the same reason. I like living with them.

PS: I updated with the icestorm thing. Glad you survived, which explains, why you mysteriously disappeared. *hugs sweetness*
