...NOT sing "Blame Canada" when things go wrong in the Vancouver games or "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" as Evan Lysacek warms up tonight.

Despite how appropriate the songs are.

(For the record, the last time a US skater won the men's singles was Brian Boitano at the 1988 Calgary games. Apparently Canada is good for men's figure skating.)

canada eh, olympic glory

Is there something specific you're anticipating "going wrong"? And is this a washington state/canada thing (like texas has a rivalry with oklahoma)? : )

No, no. I have nothing against Canada. I rather like Canada, but it seems that there are a lot of problems with the Vancouver games, from ice resurfaces that aren't working, to the ski courses being hazardous (six spills during the women's downhill yesterday alone) and let's not forget the whole brouhaha with the luge track.

(BTW, I adore Canada, as Canada gave us Michael J. Fox, Nathan Fillion, Ryan Reynolds, and William Shatner.)

As to skating, my only hope is that Plushenko flames out spectacularly. I'm cool with pretty much ANYONE but Plushenko winning the gold, because Plushenko is a douchebag. A technically superior douchebag, but still a douchebag.

I just keep wondering what else could possibly go wrong, and why Canada didn't take these things consideration.

Not that I have anything against Canada, but the Olympics have been kind of a train wreck with all the shit that keeps going wrong.
