Shoots! Photos, that is.

So I did my first real photo shoot with travellyr on Friday. She has a couple of costumes that she wanted documented and needed someone who could use a camera and was in town (sorry,
forgotten_relic ). So I was recruited along with our friend Ericka to take pictures of various costumes.

First up was Charlotte, who is the bondage fairy. Well, not really but her butt bow is a pair of handcuffs with chain links. The actual dress is vinyl. She wear porn shoes. She looks like she should be in a cheap fetish porn flick. And yet Trav manages to make her look classy. :3 Go figure. Charlotte was photographed around Trav's dining room, which was easy enough to do. We just had to make sure Eva, the 90 pound linebacker Bernese Mountain dog didn't mow someone over. We kicked out of the house during the photo shoot to keep her at bay.

Second up was Red, who is basically a red belly dance costume. She's made of velour, satin and fringe, and elegant and beautiful. She was photographed from the roof of Ericka's house with my camera because my camera, while a point and shoot model, does take some awesome pictures. And while I probably would have fussed with the settings more than Ericka did, there were some lovely shots of Red posing on Ericka's lawn.

We then decided that we would make the roadtrip to Vantage to shoot the Siren, which was the costume that Trav really wanted photographed. While we weren't actually IN Vantage (we were probably about five miles south of Vantage), the geography and geology of the general area lends itself to photos. As you all know I have absolutely no formal photography training, yet somehow I manage to take some kickass photos.

are my absolute favorites.  I'm really pleased with how things turned out, as is Trav.  I'm really glad that she liked them.  ^^;  I'm a photography novice after all.  She also posted the pictures on her devART page, however she posted them as a display of the costume itself while I posted it as a cosplay portrait.  :3  The photos are getting positive responses though.  Another thing that makes me wonder if I missed my true calling somehow...
