Confessions of a Recovering Spoiled Brat (kinda long)

Once upon a time, I, Carolyn Jayne Dallimore the Only, was a spoiled brat. I think I should say upfront that there is a very good reason for this: immigration. My mother came to Canada from England with her mother, father, and brother in the Groovy Years; my Welsh father wandered over here on his own much later on. At some point, my mother had a ( Read more... )

I seem to remember you were one of the ones I commiserated with. =P I promise, you didn't miss anything -- I have conferred with a schoolmate here, and I'm starting to vaguely remember it; it looked cool on the commercial, but all you did was press the button and listen to it.

Apparently we have a spoiled child club going on here. =P And here I was worried I was the only one. =P

Well, I spent most of my life thinking it was purple (and that I didn't have it!) so maybe your childhood memory is just messed up? Or maybe you american types got a different model. I dunno.

Good to know I wasn't the only spoiled child around! I always got bored of the silly technological toys, but the barbies and polly pockets and things were fun, because you could make up stories for them. Whoo imagination!

I was, and still am, a spoiled child. I get pretty much whatever I want. Most of the time anyway :) And I have no problem admitting it either.

I didn't really get the barbie/dolls/polly pocket thing. I always wanted the technological stuff - gameboys, tamagotchis, computers, games, playstations, cellphones etc.

At least you can play with those technology things. The things I got that were technological were things like furbys - one is fun, but when you have two (like I did) they just sit and play with each other, while you watch. XP I liked the dolls because it was easier to make up stories for them.
