Firstly, good luck with your story, for the competition! Sending lots of luck your way.

Secondly... Another wonderfully amazing chapter. I couldn't have asked for a better end to my day. :)

Somewhere in his mind, he felt that if he could break free from the bonds then he could catch a hold of the fraying thread within his brain - if he could just break free from the straps, then he wouldn't have to worry about going crazy. He could stop it. He really could.That section there, is where you started to break my heart. By the end of the whole Ianto section, I'd had to grab out the tissues. You've managed to weave the most heartbreaking inner-struggle I've ever read. I'm literally sitting on the edge of my seat, urging Jack, The Doctor and the others to hurry up and get there, already! Haha ( ... )

Secondly: thank you so much. I'm glad that you found the inner-conflict realistic - that was horrible to write and took me a few days just to get through that section. As for Jack and Alonso, the more I write the more I realise that I like Alonso, and that he was just as much screwed over by the Doctor as Jack was. So here I am giving him his dignity back, and trying to make some use and Ianto-rescuin' from a scene that many people don't like.

Ianto's situation just broke my heart. He's slipping away, and they need to get there soon! Please?

And the whole...Alonso mess. Despite there actually being an exchange of bodily fluids, you handled it very well. Although I do feel bad for Alonso...

Oh, I do hope he can help Jack find Ianto.

Well, we all know that Jack's been fucking his way around the universe ever since COE happpened (in my canon, at least) so I saw Alonso as just one more warm body in a long line of warm bodies. I did struggle with it, but when I saw it as that, and also realised that Alonso's presence could help them to find Ianto, I actually found myself coming to terms with that scene.

This was a great chapter :)
The Alonso bit, I managed to read. You made it bearable and I didn't want to throw up/hit the screen/skip it etc..
The Ianto bit was heartbreaking though *hugs Ianto*
I'm really glad you didn't go into detail with the Jack/Alonso, it actually worked really well :)

I know you were trepidatious about Jack and Alonso, but I do believe it was just sex, as they are completely incompatible as anything other than that. And since I've already insinuated that Jack has been bedding and fighting his way around the universe to try and block everything out, it made it infinitely more easy to deal with. I do like Alonso, and felt I owed it to him to treat him with more dignity than he was treated in EoT, so here I'm giving him a purpose, a meaning. The more I wrote, the more I realised that Alonso was a good character, a good person, and that he was screwed over and let down by the Doctor in that scene, just as much as Jack was.

Thank you so much, and I'm glad you weren't put off by the Jack/Alonso.

Aww, thank you for your understanding. I'm currently thumping my head against a wall trying to write it, which is why it has taken so long to reply to these reviews - I think I'm terrified at the thought that GDL will actually read this (him being one of the judges).
