Hijacking Mercy's post, lol... The guy who plays Edward is all kinds of not hot. Srsly.

And the movie is JUST as ridiculous as the book. If you liked the book for it's ridiculousness, you will like the movie. I found myself LOLing at parts that weren't supposed to be funny at all.

I think part of the appeal is the fanfiction feel, actually. She's definitely not the great author everyone says she is, but my inner boy-crazy tween sure got a kick out of the whole series!

:-D I am really glad I am not the only one, too! I guess we just have a different opinion of gorgeous, lol.

She plays with their relationship a bit more in the second book, but honestly, what she does in 4 books probably could have been done in two, and would have kept the tension heightened a bit more, I think. The "we're meant to be together" theme kind of overshadowed things a bit much for me.

And oddly (as much as I cringe to write this) I think part of the appeal is the Mary Sue-ness of Bella. And Bella and Edward are outrageously unlikable in so many ways. (Alice and Jacob were my favourite characters, and mainly why I read the other books.) There are so many reasons why the books aren't that great, yet I just found them hard to put down. I think it's kind of like chocolate... Sometimes you just HAVE to have it, but living off of it would make you sick! lol

Ooo try the carrot muffins! Yum! ::can't wait until she can eat solid foods again::

I am so torn on Twilight. I read all the books, saw the movie, and even have an Alice t-shirt. Yet, I totally get why people don't like it. But there is something sparkly and fun about it that defies all the rules of good literature. I think they sprinkled crack on the pages.

RPF always brings me back to the the days of RPF in Lord of the Rings. It was WAY to easy to 'ship those guys. ::shame::
