Rating: PG, of course!
Pairings: Implied Phoenix / Miles.
Summary: There was a night before the death of Miles' Father, you know.
Warnings: Not much, if any; but I will admit that I wasn't certain how to end the fic. You must forgive. D:
Author's Notes: Guh, I noticed the lack of YOUNG!Miles and YOUNG!Phoenix ( Read more... )

That's such a sweet story.

The last line really has an impact, once you do realize that they WERE good friends before DL-6. How DID Phoenix and Larry cope? This fic really makes me want to know.

I know, right? The three of them were really close at one point in time - and to have Miles practically ripped right out of their lives, that must have been a nightmarish ordeal. Even for the other kids that were around the three of them, or the class in an entirety.

Jeeze. Now I'd really like to know, as well.

I'm sure it affected their entire class. Even though we only saw one scene from their childhood, Miles was obviously very strongly principled, which would have stuck out an nine years of age. If even the others kids didn't particularly miss him, his absence must have left a gap.

Too true. Miles is far too, dare I say it, eccentric, of sorts, for his age. There couldn't really been a way his class didn't pay at least a certain amount of attention to him.

Gosh, now I really do want to see what that would be like. I'm tempted to write it out~.

D: THAT LAST LINE.

-sniffle-

It was sooo cute! <3 And it makes you wonder what would have happened if...

But I read a fic about that once, too. Doctor Who was in it xD They made some good points--without DL-6, Mia would never have become a lawyer (because her mother wouldn't have disappeared) so Phoenix would probably have been declared guilty for the murder of Doug Swallow, and so Larry would have been found guilty for the murder of Cindy Stone, etc, etc..

Thank you, very much~.

It's weird saying it, but, in the grand scheme of things, you've got to think that the group of them are set better because of the DL-6 incident. Oh, Miles. Taking a hit for the team.

Though it's interesting to see how that would play out, in a completely different universe. It'd be so strange, if Miles, all defense attorney-esque, eventually came to go against von Karma. What kind of epic battle would that be? xD

I'm sorry to butt into another thread, but you both bring up some really thought-inspiring points! Could you imagine Von Karma having TWO Edgeworths as bitter courtroom rivals?

Actually, I have to wonder what Franziska and Edgeworth's relationship would have been like. It's likely she may not have come to America at all, but if she did, they would have been equally bitter rivals as their parents, I imagine. And without Phoenix as a lawyer, Franziska may never have changed.

It would be awe-inspiring. No doubtedly von Karma would be forced to become even more dastardly. Could you imagine it? Miles and his Papa teaming up to go over evidence or something the night before they went against their courtroom rival.

I wonder how that would change Phoenix in general. He was studying to become an artist, wasn't he? Maybe he'd actually become one, had Miles stayed in place and became a defense attorney. How odd would that universe be..

Oh, I love this so. Kid!lawyers are adorable, and I think your little Miles is perfect, and the last line is a killer, but aww.

Seriously, though, your Miles isn't OOC at all. I imagine this is exactly what he was like before DL-6 happened -- who else but an entirely idealistic kid would stand up in front of a whole classroom to defend someone he hardly knew in the name of justice?

Also, your style is really pretty, kind of stream-of-consciousness-like.
