God #2

I got Angband 3.0.6 to compile last night. It wasn't compiling on VS.net 2003, due to a messed up makefile/project file somewhere. I don't know much about VS.net, and I was feeling too tired to poke around to fix the problem, so I got gcc on Cygwin and used that.

Idea courtesy of chifley, with a bit of expansion from me.

Hmmmm... Could Sif Misa just increase the chance of random item drops? Maybe Sif Misa gives you random effects from the other gods, that may or may not be good at the time? +n weapon modifiers, where n is a random integer between -Y and X? Higher crit strike chance?

Meeta Ghaim, God of Prescience and Study: automatic stethoscope effect when you run into an enemy? Natural resistances? You can change your equipment without taking time? (Like a good sideboard. This is a bad idea. Well, not bad, so much as useless.)

Eh, it's too early to think. But I'm sure there is something really good that Meeta Ghaim can do. It must be found.

just when you're about to die, sif misa gives you a scroll to help you get out of it.

Might be a bit late though, which is why I had the idea of the "mising" working off items the player already had.

Like I said yesterday, the change of equipment thing might actually be useful in a Vanilla Angband game, since there are about 30 things to have a resistance against. I myself don't want to make my variant a game of collecting resistances and digging anti-summoning corridors. It might be a decent low-level (that is, low piety level) power, depending.

Angband has this thing where it automatically saves monster knowledge between characters. The more of a particular monster that you fight, the more knowledge of its stats you get, like hit dice, attacks and damage, and how often it casts any spells it might have.

Like the name though: "God of Prescience and Study".

Sif Misa gives you critical hit chance or damage multiplier inversely proportional to the amount of life you have left?
Meeta Ghaim changes your weapon damage type to ice when you see a fire elemental? Or maybe it changes it on turning up to a level in which you think you will see lots of fire elementals :).
