I have a few words that I just consistently get wrong, or a few things that I get confused on. So I wondered if other people would consider sharing what their common spelling mishaps are ( Read more... )

I know I have a third one too, but I cannot remember it. I think I try to repress the word.

No. It's something I try to get with my T9 but never get anywhere close to.

Arrange <-- I can't for the life of me spell it correctly without spell check and then sometimes I put in Arraign instead, because i'm dumb.

I used to have insane issues spelling Necessary. But I have since fixed those with a great deal of patience.

Patience is another one. I always want to put a C where the T is.....

I post long-winded replies to people who misuse its/it's or your/you're and sign them "Summer Glau."

I also compulsively say (to friends and family) "He's LYING down, not he's LAYING down. Laying takes an object."

I continually misspell "seperate" and "recieve" and always end up spelling "aluminium" the British way. But "defence" and anything with "-ise" at the end I Britishise just to annoy people.

The word "weird" ALWAYS forces me to double check the spelling. I also constantly interchange "further" and "farther" with little regard to the grammatical correctness (unless I'm harassing Nathan for kicks).

When I'm tired, I also spell things phonetically rather than how they're actually spelled. I have to review every paper done past eleven just to make sure.
