Jiu-jitsu!

Here is a video of me rolling. To be fair, the guy I'm rolling with hasn't been doing jiu-jitsu very long (although, had been doing wrestling for about 4 years prior). Anyways, I haven't listened to it with the sound on, but the point where he has me in a guillotine and I tap and we restart in the same guillotine, it's because we were on someone ( Read more... )

Yes, I did, which is why I posted. Keep in mind, I was out a couple months, so I was a little slow. I've been training about 2 1/2 years and am white (I hate saying that, haha. We have to test for the blue, and I've never tested. I will when the next one comes up, unless I miss it due to some other circumstances).

In the first set I actually hit a double arm-lock, not a triangle. Although I only lock one of the arms out, I'm still in that double arm-lock position.

In the can opener, I'll do that against people to make them uncomfortable and often they'll let go. He pulled that off and broke my guard pretty quick though.

I'm not sure what counter to the guillotine you're talking about. What I usually do is pin his arm to my chest, tuck my chin, put my head to the ground and then work my other arm in against his other arm. Then when I create some space like that, pull my head out.

still white? i see.

you did hit a double arm lock BUT you had ALL day to do a triangle choke.

yes, but you can counter a can opener rather easily. hence why it's not used in MMA when going against another BJJ guy.

the common counter to a guillotine is always moving to side control while your head is locked, thus making the other guy having to release the hold given it is no longer locked in with the arm under the chin.

It's not a problem. I'll probably post some more in the future. I like to watch myself and analyze.
