My concrit first: The "it's" in the final bit should be "its," just FYI.
Now that that's out of the way, I like this. Will does need to learn selective defiance, and it must be particularly frustrating for Elizabeth to see him this way, knowing he has some pirate relationship from the medallion she took off of him. I also am tickled by the idea of an island having a personality and how it ties in with the seasons.
(But I must ask - what is a mud monster? Is that just her way of saying she tripped? *G*)

Yes, that was her way of saying she tripped. I imagine she'd find that much more interesting, less embarrassing, and possibly slightly romantic if Will had saved her from a mud monster instead of her own clumsiness.
