Summary: Dean says that the world outside the bunker is far too dangerous for a thirteen year old Sam Winchester to wander about in but thirteen year old Sam is dying of boredom and honestly, what's the worst that could happen?

Aw... I'd like to think when Sam wakes up this time he'll be back to 33 and himself again, but I guess if not, their new accommodation means reliving those 20 years won't be as hard as they might have been. Though the thought of wee Sam grieving for his young Dean, and Dean grieving for his lost brother while wrapping his head round whatever this Sam might turn out to be - it hurts my heart.

What a tough hand both of them were dealt. Losing all that time together, all those memories, all that knowledge Sam had soaked up over the years. Both of them are doing so well, but I do hope Sam get's his 37 year old self back. In a way Sam is better off, he doesn't know what he's lost, but Dean, he's lost his best friend and kind of gained a son.

The stories you write are great! You take a concept, turn it into an emotionally evocative short story and have the courage to keep the stories short enough. You also dare to make open endings. I read several of your short stories yesterday, and I really enjoyed them. I'll try to write something specific in several of them.

The most touching thing about this story was the idea of a two-way loss and longing. New meaning for a Nirvana classic.
