Hooray for public transport!

Yesterday I had to go to a meeting about 40 miles from where I live.  On the face of it, driving was the only sensible way to get there - 45 mins traveling time door-to-door versus 2 1/2 - 3 hours by public transport.  I was planning to drive, but I'm a complete wimp about driving on motorways so I knew my non-motorway route would take me about
