Not much news

I'm feeling a bit better today, due in no small part to how supported I'm feeling by friends, Friends, F/friends and family.  Thank you.

Also, just now, because it's my favourite nurse on duty overnight, which makes me feel The Baby will be safe tonight.  And I trust her to come and get me when he does need me.  And she said that she thought that if ( Read more... )

They don't allow young children on the ward

Shame. We had J with us when we went to donate L's milk, and we all went onto the SCBU ward coz that's where the milkbank was, though not into any actual baby's room, obv. BIG shame they don't have a donation program. You can't really run off to any nearby hospital that does just now of course - we had to go to Huddersfield to donate, Halifax and Rochdale didn't have a milkbank.

*sends more good vibes*

I had a little thought earlier today - i don't know if you realise (cos i didn't til someone explained) SCBU is not as serious as NICU - so it's for healthier babies. Just maybe a little tiny positive thing.

Ah, that was me misreporting. He is in the ICU bit of the neo-natal unit. but compared to the tiny preemies in the other incubators, who keep stopping breathing, he is indeed very healthy and robust (but that difference from them is a major part of my hassles with the nursing staff - he just doesn't fit their routines and expectations because they are all geared up for these tiny babies)

Ah, i see. Yes, i can understand how that would be hard. Honestly, why don't these people work in adaptable ways??

If there's anything you want me to find out for you or whatever, just let me know.

continueing good thoughts.
Glad that things are improving on the medical front but it sounds still very difficult for you and PB.
This is prolly a silly thought but could you take a phto of the baby in hospiatl to show PB - or would that upset him more?
Do please say if there is anything farway people can do
