Remembering Miss Killingbeck

Del Martin has died. I never met her or her partner but I have a picture from their (subsequently annulled) 2004 wedding up in my office, as well as using a cut down version as this icon. I use this as an icon a lot because it so well represents the things I often post about and the things I feel strongly about - later life, older people and ( Read more... )

This was very touching -- thank you for sharing the story of Miss K and for helping us to know her just a little bit through your eyes.

I never met Del and Phyllis either, but I remember how deeply moved I was that photo and their story. Even now, it evokes old memories, wonderful ones. Hooray for everyday heroes.
