Oh, and when that breaks, you should try J.B. Weld. Super-glue / Krazy-glue basically just polymerizes into acrylic plastic, which is kind of brittle. J.B. Weld is a filled industrial epoxy, one of the strongest (other than expensive exotics) that you can get on the open market. Most hardware stores have it. OTOH, it's not clear, it's dark gray when cured. And it takes 24 hours to cure. But I suppose you could paint it with black lacquer if you had to...
you know, i considerd jb weld but i wanted to see if i could fix it with things i had in my house and alas, no jb weld. when this breaks i will definitely consider it :) i also had to do something that i could leave the house with within an hour. but jb's on my hit list for round two :) thanks!
i considered it but felt that letting the glasses at least close on one side was useful. then this weekend i got the frames replaced. had i used gomez's suggestion and used jb weld i might not have had to do that ;)
