Okay... I really want to do this, but I'm a little intimidated... it seems so big and official and serious and I'm not all that sure how everything works. :/

I'm scared. Please un-scare me.

Honestly! It's not all that scary at all! I honestly believe that some of my best work (both writing and artwork) comes from Big Bangs. What would you be looking to do? Art, fic or both? :-)

Okay, that sounds promising :P

And I think I'd wanna do some art, I'd do both if I was sure I'd be able to handle it, but for my first BB I think I wanna start out softly xD

Well the cool thing with art is you have more control with reverse Big Bang - you can do pretty much whatever you want, with whatever characters you like to give the author a starting point. We'll accept art in pretty much any format -- and I know we'd love to have you on board!

As for writing, there's no need to decide for quite some time. In all honesty, with fic, you can make up your mind on the day that the art selection post goes up. If there's something there that piques your interest, then you'd be more than welcome to choose to join in then. Also, the word count for Reverse Big Bang compared to 'regular' Big Bang is significantly reduced (from 10,000 to 3,000), so there is less pressure on that front. :-)

How, exactly, does a check-in work?

A post will be posted on a specific date, asking people to state how they are going with their fic/artwork and whether or not they think they will finish. It's to provide the mods with a guideline to check how many people are expected to finish -- and if pinch hitters will be required if somebody cannot finish for one reason or another. It's also a chance for everyone to offer support to one another, to congratulate people for working ahead of schedule or encourage those who have slipped up a little to keep going.

Please feel free to check our older check in posts, to see how they operated directly in the past.
