Strange Blood Stains

I noticed this while I was clearing out some of my clothes for Goodwill or other destinations yesterday.

Some of my dark pants -- the ones that end up being my "period pants" precisely because blood stains don't show on the outside -- have strange stains in the crotch and inner thigh regions. They're the same kind of "bleached out"-looking stains ( Read more... )

I was going to assume it was your normal discharge mixed with your menstrual blood, but its a mystery why it doesnt affect your dark colored cloth pads? Material difference?

For black pants at least, you can probably run them through a dye wash. IDK about other colors and getting a good color match,

Possibly. All my pads are cotton topped (whether flannel or print). At least some of my pants are cotton/poly or cotton/poly/Lycra.

Wear a menstrual cup or unbleached tampon/sponge in addition to your pad to keep from bleeding through? I haven't had any problems with bloodstains on pants since I doubled up that way.

This is with a menstrual cup plus 2 cloth pads. There is no way to keep from bleeding through.
