Brief background infos... And no, I'm not looking for a diagnosis, just ideas. It doesn't seem like anything serious, just an odd "This is probably normal but I wonder what others say" sort of thing where I have no idea how to go about searching the internets for clues, but figure this is an appropriate place to ask

Actually, this doesn't sound normal. The really heavy bleeding... then not bleeding... then strange bleeding... All of those could indicate some sort of problem. You say you don't have a job, so I'm assuming you don't have insurance right now? I'd make an appointment at the closest Planned Parenthood or similar clinic. This is the kind of thing you really should get checked out. I've had a lot of weird bleeding patterns. In my experience, they may want to do an ultrasound to check your uterine lining. And they may want to do an endometrial biopsy just to make sure there are no cancerous or pre-cancerous cells present (which can cause irregular bleeding). Don't mean to scare you. But I think you should get this checked out

Have you been getting regular pap smears and gynecological exams during this time? If so, what did your doctor(s) say about your unusual bleeding patterns?
