The Diva has notoriously small anti-suction holes. Enlarge them if you think that suction is the problem. It might not have opened all the way. Insert it halfway, make sure it has opened fully and then boost it into place. Or it might be that you just didn't get it positioned right. There are helpful hints at http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ that might help.

One of the hints is to flip the Diva inside out to shorten it. Don't try that until you are proficient at removal -- and only if you think it's too long.

Thank you, I'll take a look at the link and hopefully this will fix it. I don't relish the idea of having to buy a different menstrual cup.

I looked at the link above, and managed to get the cup insert correctly.
