We Now Know What The Very First Menstrual Cup Looked LikeApparently the first menstrual cup ever was patented way back in 1884. Check it out- it empties into a bladder on a sling outside your body. Cool design, actually! That would be great for super heavy bleeders. I think the commenter who complained about possible splashing was a little off base since blood is thicker than water.

This is very interesting. I wonder if it was comfortable though? You have to wear the bag all day right, and the cup is attached to it?

I dislike the feelilng of an untrimmed cup stem that pokes out, so I can't imagine this.
