Diva Cup pushing on bladder

Actually, the Diva isn't that stiff. It rates a 4, with 10 being stiffest on the squishiness chart. http://menstrualcupinfo.wordpress.com/cup-stiffness-comparison-chart/

It could just be that you need to get used to it. Or it might not be as good a fit as you'd like it to be. Get through the dreaded learning curve with it and figure out what you like and don't about it. Then use the various size charts at the Community FAQ to compare it to others and decide whether or not another brand would be more comfortable.

Do you think this is a placement issue or the type of cup.

No, I don't... for now I think it's your body getting used to the cup. Give yourself some time, it may very well subside.
If it doesn't, in a cycle or two, then it's early enough to think about getting a differently shaped cup or one with a softer rim.

Placement issues: for most of us, we don't choose where the cup sits... the cup decides.

I sometimes have the same problem. I think its placement or just my body changes throughout the day. I've had to take out my cup to sleep too, but that's only happened once. I'd keep trying with your Diva for now :)
