I posted in here yesterday seeking advice and I'm hardly an expert on these things but, for what it's worth, I can't reach my cervix either but I haven't had any problems getting my small soft Meluna out. The ball has been easy to hold and it pulls straight out. The ring end might work for you as well. That said, I don't have a very heavy flow but I haven't found the small soft Meluna to be a good option on my heavier days because it doesn't seem to seal very well for me but I am twice your age so you might have more luck with it. The medium isn't that much bigger so you might want to consider it as a compromise between size and capacity.
Thank you very much ! I'll look more into the size differences and such, then. Thanks for the information regarding the cervix/capacity topics as well. I'll look more into this one!
my Lunette still intimidates me when I accidentally let go and it opens so suddenly, it's sort of scary thinking of it doing that inside of you
Then it may help to realise that the inside of the vagina is very flexible, and not at all rich in nerve endings. In other words, if the cup opens suddenly when it's well inside your vagina (not halfway in the opening) you may not feel it at all. Unless it hits your cervix, but as you said, that's way high up, in your case.
Melunas are made of a different material than silicone, and as a result they are not as 'snappy'. Maybe that's where your answer lies.
I second m03m's remark, vaginas and cups get along beautifully because past the tiny entrance, there is a lot more flexible, expandable, smooth and mostly pain free room than you'd ever imagine looking at it from the outside. And that doesn't change much whether you're a virgin or not, only the very entrance can be an issue

Thank you very much to everyone who replied! I really appreciate it!
Thank you, juliiie87. Your reply was very helpful for me! I have looked more into the Lilycup when you suggested it and I am really liking the sound of it so far... I don't recall knowing about this one until now, so it is interesting to me. Good information on the soft Meluna as well -- I'm still pretty interested in that one too. I suppose I'll look for more comparisons and such between them and choose which seems more suitable for myself. Once again, I really appreciate the recommendations, thank you!
If you decide to look for a softer cup, I agree with the Lily suggestion! If your cervix is totally unreachable during your period it will be perfect...turns out mine actually does dip down a little bit but it was still manageable. Even the Meluna Medium Classic was way too stiff for me--couldn't really use the bathroom at all while wearing it--and it was way too short/difficult to remove because I can't fit a thumb and forefinger in there.
Do not buy another cup yet. A different cup will NOT be any easier than then ones that you have. The problem is not the cups, it's that you have not figured out how to work the ones that you have and that you are afraid of them.
Become more familiar with your body. Learn to relax your pelvic floor muscles (aka PC.) Get more comfortable with inserting things.
If your hymen isn't in the way, you're probably clenching your PC muscles. To isolate them, next time you go pee, start and stop your stream a few times. Then insert your finger and give it a little squeeze. Now that you know how to contract them on command, practice RELAXING them on command. You'll need to do that for insertion and especially removal. Open your mouth a little and keep your jaw slack -- and don't forget to breathe! :o)
Also, if you don't already, drop your panties to your ankles so you can splay your knees comfortably. It's easier to insert/remove than if your knees are bound together.
