Please help me decide on a cup!

I am 24 years old and never given birth. I have Endometriosis and a tilted uterus that tilts back towards my spine. I have a relatively normal cervix length. I currently use the Instead Soft cups. I like them but I dont feel they are secure enough. The amount of firmness to the ring is near perfect but they can pop out with a sneeze easily. I know ( Read more... )

There are 3 dozen unique brands now, plus Insteads, plus knock-offs. There are various size charts at the Community FAQ and at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ with links to side by side comparison photos and things like "squishyness" ratings.

Neither endo nor a tilted uterus should interfere with cup usage.

Hi, welcome to the community! Out of the ones you've narrowed it down to, now narrow it down even more to ones that have substantial GRIPS on the base and stem. If there is little to no grip, it may be quite slippery, therefore difficult to grasp for removal. So especially for a beginner in cup use (I"m still one) I think grip is vitally important. I found the Keeper Mooncup WAY too slippery and it was really frustrating. I"m now using a Fleurcup, a Meluna and a Natural Mamma. Out of the ones I've tried, I'd recommend to you a Medium or Large Meluna or a Fleurcup. I"m sure there are lots of other ones that could work for you as well though!

Great idea to narrow it down from the stem grips. I honestly never thought of that. Thank you. I am thinking a fleurcup will be my best bet. How much bigger is your Fleurcup to the Medium Meluna? Price wise they are nearly the same.

The cool thing about Fleurcup and Meluna is that I believe they both still offer deals on getting two different sizes. I have a Large Fleurcup, Large Meluna, and XL Meluna. The Large Meluna is maybe two mm shorter, and maybe 1 mm narrower at the rim than the Large Fleurcup. Out of my cups, I can say that my Large Meluna I feel the LEAST; It is the MOST comfortable. However, it is not made of silicone and I wish it was. It is made out of Thermoplastic Elastomer (plastic - WHAT?) I really like the material of the Fleurcup, I love the softness/stiffness of it, and it has a pleasant texture. Plus it has 4 suction-release holes instead of the 2 that Meluna has. With both brands, they are smelly upon removal but it goes away after washing and sitting out. The Meluna comes out of my body as an oval shape and seems to stay that way, whereas the Fleurcup goes right back to a perfect circle the second it leaves the body. I got my Melunas from menstrualcup.co and the Fleurcup from the Fleurcup website. I got both within I would say 10 days or ( ... )

Thank you so much! I realized that I may need to get both a small and large Fleurcup and or a medium or Large Meluna. I am not thrilled that the MeLuna cups arent silicone but I am not too put off by it. I will spend today deciding.

If you peek at the size charts page, I think you'll be able to cross off some of those based on capacity alone. Even though many of those have similar overall dimensions, the capacity of some may just not be where you want it.

Your needs sound similar to mine: light flow usually, but want to be prepared for moderate/heavy flow. Because of that, I like the largest capacity cup, it doesn't care if I don't fill it up daily, but I'm sure glad I have it when the flood gates break open.

Based on that need, I'd say Fleurcup, Yuuki, Si-Bell, Meluna (med, maybe even large), and Lunette are great options. The other great thing about those 4 is that they're close to your budget. Even the Melunas, Yuuki, and Fleurcups will be well below $30 (that includes the shipping fee).

Try menstrualcup.co for Yuuki (free shipping right now) and Melunas ($18 each or 2 for $27). Fleurcup.com sells direct to worldwide customers. I've bought from both sites with no problems whatsoever, so I would personally recommend them.

Thank you so much! I also agree those may be my best bets. I am leaning towards the medium Meluna, small Lunette or small Fleurcup.

Yeah, sounds like you're definitely on the right track. And all three of those share a lot of similarities and are quite popular, for good reason. Any of them would most likely serve you very well.

Thank you! Have you purchased from this seller? Are the cups actually silicone?
