I've been lurking in this community ever since I first heard about cups.  ( this also my first LJ posting woohoo) Having always had period problems - you know irregular periods, extreme cramping, heavy flow the whole nine yards-  I'd figured I would just have to suffer through things like leaks, pad rash, pads not "Fitting" well since I am plus ( Read more... )

don't forget that 10 years ago there weren't even any Lunettes. I think there were divas, mooncups and keepers.
because of this i don't really wish I had found out about cups sooner - there's no way i'd have used a diva or keeper as a 12 year old.

True, it definitely would have turned me off the experience if I had to use those huge cups. There is no way they'd fit and be comfortable.

Yay for cups! I have never been able to understand grandparents who look at your old feminine products in the waste basket. I would feel violated too. But with cups you won't have that problem anymore. It may drive the grandparent nuts though lol. Which a cup would be perfect for.

It is perfect. and yes I understand cups are nothing like they were ten years ago. It was a statement used for dramatic flare. The only problem with no longer having "Waste" is that they now think I am pregnant! It has become a source of amusement for my BF, my friends, and I.
I wish cups were discussed when young girls begin learning about periods as well as tampons, pads, and the like.. but they are not even mentioned! It's kind f like some people think of cups the same way my high school thought of sex before marriage. "If you do that you'll die/get aids/go to hell" only in this case people treat cups like a bad thing. They are a great thing. Just different.
