I purchased my first menstrual cup on eBay a few months ago, and have been extremely pleased with it! Sometimes it is quite difficult to get a good seal, the punch down fold works most of the time but sometimes not. And I have just had to trim the stem for the second time, as it's been irritating more than usual during this period, especially when ( Read more... )

Have no fear, Green Donna was a legitimate cup company but they went out of business. Now Chinese liquidators are selling their leftover cups direct from the manufacturer. Apparently they call menstrual cups "moon cups" in China and that's why that description (not name) was on the package ( ... )

thanks for your response! that's fine, it wasn't the fact that it wasn't a mooncup that worried me, just that it might have been used by someone else, and that it seemed dodgy that they seemed to be trying to pass it off as something else.

glad it's fine though. i love it anyway! don't know why the stem irritated me so much more this month though. made me very itchy to the point where my inner labia swelled up a bit for a day or two :S

And I just peeked at your profile to see that you're not in the US so FDA Approval doesn't matter to you.

The stem on my Lunette is still fully intact. I like having it as an "anchor." But my Mooncup came to me 2nd had with the stem lopped off down to a nub -- and it turned out that it's just fine that way. But as you have figured out, be absolutely sure that you want to cut it -- you can always trim more off later but you can't put any back.

You can always check the user rating for your eBay seller to see if there are any recent complaints for getting used or 2nd had, but for the most part my personal experience with cups from eBay have been NIB.

I have bought cups from here on the forums and I can assure you I am disease free pre and post use. (I trust sellers boiled, and I also boiled my cup prior to personal use).

Design wise, its a copy of Lunette, which is why they went out of business-- Lunette was taking legal action against them. Now when they are being sold, they have the name Moon Cup on the box, and the Green Donna logo is printed on the cup. Its because Lunette asks people to report it whenever Green Donna is being sold. Some do, some don't. And most sellers will put the name that is on the box (moon cup) in the listing, so the name Green Donna is less likely to be seen, or found by Lunette. Although some sellers may include the name Green Donna in the listing ( ... )
