What are everyone's favorite books?

I like the early Christopher Pike mystery novels, The Dying Earth series by Jack Vance, and the Chronicles of an Age of Darkness series by Hugh Cook.

These are just a few of my favorites. I could list more if you want, but I'm mainly interested in hearing about new books from other people.

I like education of a speculator by victor neiderhoffer. I also immensely enjoyed when genius failed.

what got me into reading was lions game by nelson deville. i remember i ditched class just to read it.
