* I need a book on the history of how the culture divided up in Europe/Scandinavia/Russia. I am trying to get at it through language but I am not sure this is the way to go. I bet history would be better received in school if it didn't focus so much on wars. It's the culture that is interesting not who attacked, when they did it and for how long ( Read more... )

Ahaha! Are you afraid we killed off the protagonists? Or just kept them in their boring het relationships instead of running off together? *snicker* Anytime you get the courage to read, we'd love to hear what you think! :)

Don't hit me. I am worried you made Remus... wimp out and let Bill get the upper hand. I give up on anyone else but me accepting that Remus is gay, gay, gay. ;)

Oh ye of little faith! It seems an excerpt is in order:

"So what happens if I meet another werewolf someday - I'll just get laid a lot and not want to fight him?" Bill chuckled and pushed himself off the bed. "Sounds all right to me."

He didn't expect Remus' hand to dart out and grab him, fingers closing around Bill's wrist with a painful grip and a quiet fury. "That's not a joke," Remus warned, his voice low and dangerous. "You are in my pack, wolf. Any betrayals of that allegiance will be punished very severely."

Bill's eyes widened and he felt his blood race. "I-"

But Remus' stern gaze relaxed after a moment, and he released Bill's arm. "I think you'll find you won't want to 'get laid,' as you put it, by any other werewolf. I've marked you as mine," he added. "Your body knows that."

And of course Remus is gay gay gay. I'll never fight you on that one. But I had a co-author to consider here, and she wasn't so sure... *curses* ;-)

Thanks for the rec! All the tunes from the LJ Mix can be downloaded individually here.

I'm glad you are enjoying/mortified by that rendition of Common People. Mind expanding, eh? I'm particularly fond of The Murmurs - You Suck.

This mix seems to be enjoying a fair degree of popularity so I'm considering putting together a slightly more eclectic mix in the near future. I'll keep you posted.

-Yeah, I know, William Shatner singing? WTF was my first reaction too. A friend of mine bought that cd last year and it was pretty fun to listen to. There is an even better song on there titled "You'll Have Time" where he keeps telling you over and over you're gonna die and points out people who have died and people in your vacinity who are going to die as well. It is supposed to make you want to seize the time you have left but it is slightly surreal. Highly recommend.

-As for tv, I'm with you on that one but I have found the easiest way to deal with tv people is to just play along. I know way too much about reality tv and I haven't watched one since The Mole.

I think the one I found most horrific was the one about his wife.

Yeah but then they never shut up about the show. ;)
I really don't feel my life lacking in anyway from not knowing who won american idol. I never saw the mole either. The news is a gripping enough 'reality show' for me.

Wow I didn't think anything could have been worse... you proved me wrong. I'll just be over there in the corner... rocking and sucking my thumb.

You know I meant the pendant, right? Really. ;)
